Another drooling recipe this time with seitan! A delicious and easy way to prepare seitan. This vegetable protein is a great alternative to traditional recipes and therefore ideal for a dish as typical as the famous Portuguese “prego”.

Ingredients

Servings: 2 servings

  • 2 buns breads
  • 250 gr of seitan, cut in 2-4 “steaks”
  • 200 gr of oyster mushrooms (pleurotus), whole
  • 100 ml of white wine (or juice of 1 lemon)
  • ½ courgette, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Coarse salt to taste
Instructions
  1. Place a grill brushed with a little oil on the stove. Grill the slices of courgette and oyster mushrooms for about 2 minutes on each side, until they are marked.
  2. Season the vegetables with a little salt and black pepper and set aside.
  3. Meanwhile, heat a frying pan with a little oil and sauté the chopped garlic slightly.
  4. Add the seitan and let it brown slightly on each side.
  5. Add the soy sauce and white wine and lower the heat. Allow to soak until the sauce has evaporated for about 5 minutes.
  6. Once the vegetables are grilled and the seitan is ready, mount the nail on your favorite bread.
